The best way to lose weight is dependant on a number of factors that are specific to you. How many calories you burn during a workout depends on three major variables. These are, how much you weigh, the length of time you exercise, and the effort you put in.   

 

The more that you weigh, the more calories you will burn, for a given exercise. This is because it takes more calories to move a bigger object, that being you (or me). So a bigger person starting an exercise program often sees a greater weight loss in pounds, especially near the beginning, which can be very encouraging. Of course this is for the same exercise and a lighter person would have to exercise for a longer period or at a greater intensity to lose the same weight.

The best way to lose weight is if you can increase the calorie burn by splitting the exercises into several smaller ones during the day. This elevates the metabolism for a longer period as the body recovers after each session. You will get more benefit from three 10 minute exercise sessions than one 30 minute session. 

 

The next best way to lose weight is to increase the intensity level of your exercise which will speed up the calorie burn. So if you can slowly get faster or lift more weight you will start to burn the fat.  

 

Many people find that they succeed more easily when they can formulate some sort of plan and stick to it. It is often easier to just go along with it regardless of whether you actually feel like doing it, just go and do your program anyway because it is on your plan for the day. 

 

 There are a number of ways that you can work out if you are working at a good intensity level. If you are strolling along with a friend and can have an extended conversation with ease then this is a low intensity. As you move towards the next level you will eventually not be able to talk at all, and may have to slow down or even stop to recover. You have now found a level that is too hard and you should ease back. 

 

If you are only working at low intensity then you need to work longer than if you are working at medium intensity. You will need to workout/walk for three quarters to an hour to start losing weight.

 

As you get fitter and can increase the intensity level to medium or higher the time can reduce and you will still burn the same calories. At high intensity you can workout for say fifteen to twenty minutes. Or really start to make some progress and increase intensity and maybe increase to half an hour, and you will really be finding the best way to lose weight.
